Chassis Mounted Storage Box for Defender 110 & 130

The Roverland Chassis Box is the product that put us on the map, and once you’ve used one, you’ll understand why. Designed and built by overlanders, for overlanders, it turns the unused space along your Defender’s chassis into organised storage you can reach in seconds. Think of it as your Overlanding Garage: tools, fluids and spares stay within easy reach, yet out of sight and out of the way.

On the road, your Defender becomes your home. And just like at home, tools, fluids and dirty hands don’t belong inside. They live in the garage. The Chassis Box applies the same principle. No more emptying the rear to find a spanner buried under your clean clothes. The greasy stuff stays outside, the clean stuff stays in.

• No loss of ground clearance. Mounts flush with the underside of the chassis.

• Light, yet built to carry. When locked, the box forms a rigid box section that supports a high payload.

• Weatherproof. Keeps your gear clean and protected. (Water can push past the seals during deep water crossings. Compare it to your Defender door seals)

• Built to resist corrosion. Industrial powder coating and stainless steel hardware stand up to salt, mud and water.

• Riveted construction. Holds together on the roughest roads, where welded seams can crack from vibration.

• Lockable. Accepts a padlock (not included).

• Safety pins included. Prevents the lid from opening accidentally while driving.

• Optional MOLLE panel and pouch. Add them to organise smaller items.

• Low center of gravity. Improves off-road capability compared to carrying payload on the roof.

• Impact protection. Front outrigger (sits lower) will take a hit and warn before reaching the storage box)

Which Chassis Box fits my Defender?

The Chassis Box fits both left-hand drive (LHD) and right-hand drive (RHD) Defenders. The mounting positions are identical on both, so the steering side doesn’t matter. You only need to know two things: which side of the vehicle you want the box on, and whether your Defender has the original tubular side steps.

Left and right are as seen from the driver’s seat, facing forward.

• LHS variant: left side (battery side) - Mounts on the left side of the chassis, below the battery seat box. The seat box is larger on this side, so the LHS box is slightly slimmer to clear it.

• RHS variant: right side - Mounts on the right side of the chassis. There is more room on this side, so the RHS box is taller to make full use of the available space.

• Side-step variant: left or right side - For Defenders with the original tubular side steps. These have a bracing strut halfway along the chassis, so the Side-step box is shorter to fit between this strut and the second outrigger. It fits on either side of the vehicle.

The Chassis Box fits most Defender 110 and 130 models, as long as the side of the chassis where you want to mount it is free of other equipment.

Customers have fitted it to 200Tdi, 300Tdi, Td5 and TDCi Defenders.

Not compatible with:

• A fuel tank under the seat on that side. The box cannot be fitted on the same side as an under-seat fuel tank. The opposite side can still take a Chassis Box.

• Other equipment mounted on the side of the chassis, such as aftermarket tanks, compressors or storage boxes.
